All Saints Neighborhood residents had quite a busy September! National Assisted Living Week was celebrated September 12th – 18th and it included a variety of amazing activities for seniors in assisted living and memory care. They enjoyed lovely picnic lunches, delicious ice cream from the Vesperman Farms Ice Cream Truck, a visit from an adorable dog and other fun activities. Thanks to Shawn Carney, Executive Director of Catholic Charities Madison, for stopping by the picnic to help serve food and visit with staff and residents. Residents also painted caring rocks to give to staff members and share kind words about them. Aside from Assisted Living Week, campus seniors celebrated Oktoberfest with German trivia and learning how to play Glückhaus, as well as bus trips to Sutter’s Ridge Family Farm, New Life Lavender & Cherry Farm, and Paul Bunyan’s Cook Shanty. Lastly, the entire neighborhood came together for one last concert in the courtyard with entertainment by Waunakee Big Band. Wow – what a busy and delightful month it was!
