National Assisted Living Week kicks off the start of fall. This year’s theme was “Joyful Moments”, and there were plenty of those all throughout the month. Folks got to take some beautiful scenic drives as they went on trips to Ski Hi Fruit Farm in Baraboo, Lost Canyon Tours in the Dells and Sutter’s Ridge Farm in Mt. Horeb. Delicious fall treats like apple pie and apple cider donuts were part of the fun, as well as a visit from the ice cream truck from Vesperman Farms in Lancaster. It was a beautiful day when LB Equestrian in Mineral Point brought miniature horses, goats and alpacas to the campus, and on a chilly day a group went out for lunch and bowling at the Sports Bowl in Middleton. Since September means back to school, apartment tenants hosted a Teacher Appreciation Social to honor retired teachers who live on the campus. They also made cat toys to donate to a local shelter, learned about fire safety from the Madison Fire Department, and the Police Department presented on how to avoid scams. The month ended with Oktoberfest – beer, pretzels German sausages and pickles and a guest speaker from Burghausen, Germany. Prost! To view photos, please click on the web album link below.
